The Institution of Engineers (India), Tiruvallur Local Centre (IEI TVLC), organized the 49th Technical Lecture on 29th December 2025 at the Mechanical Seminar Hall, S.A. Engineering College. The programme was attended by faculty members, engineering students, IEI coordinators, and professional engineers, with a total participation of 260 attendees. The event also marked the inauguration of the IEI Student Chapter, and Dr. V. Cyril Raj, Immediate Past Honorary Secretary, IEI TVLC, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, highlighting IEI’s commitment to strengthening student engagement and professional development.
The technical lecture was delivered by Mr. Nelson M Sathya, Strategic Leader in AI, Digital Marketing & Talent Transformation, who served as the resource person. He discussed the evolution from traditional programming to AI-driven intelligent systems and presented real-world applications of Artificial Intelligence in engineering and digital transformation. The session provided participants with valuable exposure to emerging AI technologies and interdisciplinary innovation.
During the lecture, emphasis was placed on how engineers are integrating cognitive computing, analytics, and automation into modern engineering practices. Through practical examples and insights into AI frameworks and learning models, the speaker demonstrated how intelligent tools can enhance productivity and innovation.
