The Institution of Engineers (India), Tiruvallur Local Centre (IEI–TVLC), organized the 51st Technical Lecture on “Metallurgical Process in a Foundry” on 7th February 2026 at Baettr India Pvt. Ltd., Thervoy Kandigai, Tamil Nadu. The programme was attended by engineering students, faculty members, IEI coordinators, and professional engineers. The session aimed to provide industrial exposure to metallurgical and foundry processes while enhancing participants’ understanding of real-world manufacturing practices.
The lecture was delivered by Mr. Baskar Radhakrishnan, Managing Director, Baettr India Private Limited, who shared valuable insights into foundry operations and metallurgical workflows. He explained key stages such as raw material preparation, melting, molding, casting, and finishing, and highlighted quality control measures, safety practices, and process optimization followed in industrial environments. Practical examples helped bridge the gap between theoretical learning and industry applications.
Participants gained exposure to material processing techniques, casting methods, and manufacturing quality standards, which strengthened their understanding of industrial production systems. The programme also encouraged industry–academia interaction and provided students with knowledge beyond classroom learning, supporting career awareness in manufacturing and materials engineering sectors.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks expressing gratitude to the speaker and the management of Baettr India Pvt. Ltd. for hosting the programme. Appreciation was also extended to coordinators, faculty members, and participants for their active involvement, reaffirming IEI–TVLC’s commitment to experiential engineering education and professional development.
