The Institution of Engineers (India), Tiruvallur Local Centre (IEI-TVLC), organized the Royal Charter Day Celebration on 9th September 2025 at CAR Lab, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute. The event commemorated the granting of the Royal Charter to IEI in 1935, reflecting its legacy and role in uniting engineers across disciplines.

The program was attended by about 70 participants, including engineering students, faculty members, practicing engineers, and IEI coordinators from affiliated institutions.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. G. Ganesan, Ex-Officio of IEI TVLC, who highlighted the historical importance of the Royal Charter and IEI’s contributions to education, research, and industry collaboration.

The event emphasized IEI’s objectives of promoting engineering knowledge, professional excellence, ethics, and innovation. Discussions covered IEI’s milestones, collaborations, and vision for future advancements.

The session also underlined the role of engineers in nation-building, fostering a sense of pride, responsibility, and commitment among participants.
