IEI Tiruvallur Local Centre (TVLC) celebrated World Standards Day 2025 on 14th October at RA Auditorium, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, Chennai. The event was themed “Shared Vision for a Better World: Spotlight on SDG 17,” emphasizing the role of standards in fostering global partnerships for sustainable development.

Dr. G. Moorthy, Professor & Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Velammal Institute of Technology, served as the distinguished speaker. He highlighted how international standards drive innovation, ensure quality, and strengthen collaboration across industries and academia.

Over 120 participants, including students, faculty, and professional engineers, attended the event. The session provided valuable insights into the importance of standardization in achieving sustainability goals and promoting engineering excellence.

The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming IEI TVLC’s commitment to advancing sustainable practices, innovation, and global cooperation through the power of standardization.
