The Institution of Engineers (India), Tiruvallur Local Centre (IEI TVLC) successfully organized a World Environment Day 2026 Public Lecture on 29th June 2026 at Tower Park, Anna Nagar, Chennai, for engineering students, faculty members, IEI coordinators, professional engineers, and the public. The lecture, titled “A Global Call for Climate Action,” was delivered by Dr. J. Arun Kumar, CEO, Benzz Emerge Technology Foundation.

During the session, the speaker highlighted the importance of climate action, environmental conservation, sustainable development, and protection of water bodies. He encouraged participants to adopt eco-friendly practices and contribute towards a sustainable future. Dr. J. Arun Kumar was also honoured with the “Best Environmentalist Award” for his contributions to environmental protection and sustainability. Environmental awareness pamphlets were distributed to the public to promote environmental conservation and water protection.

The programme was attended by 25 participants and served as an effective platform for creating awareness about environmental conservation and sustainable practices.
