The IEI Tiruvallur Local Centre successfully hosted its 44th Technical Lecture on “Current Scenario of Precast Construction in India” on 28th April 2025 at MGR University, RA Auditorium. The session provided an engaging overview of precast construction methods and their growing relevance in India’s infrastructure development.

Mr. R. Manoharan, Technical Director at VME Precast Products, delivered the keynote address, sharing his expertise on the advantages of precast systems—including improved quality control, faster project timelines, and sustainability benefits. He also addressed industry challenges and future prospects in the field.

The 90-minute event, held from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, attracted 130 attendees comprising civil engineering students, faculty, industry professionals, and researchers. Participants gained insights into the manufacturing, transportation, and installation processes of precast components, as well as comparisons with traditional construction techniques.

The lecture concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Mr. Manoharan and all attendees for their active participation, making the session both informative and impactful.
