The Tiruvallur Local Centre, established on 30th October 1994 and then Hon'ble Minister of State for Science & Technology, Government of India, is a dynamic and active chapter of the Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI]. With a membership comprising 2050 corporate members, 5000 student members, and 15 institutional members, IEI-TVLC is dedicated to advancing the objectives and ethics of IEI.
IEI-TVLC regularly organizes technical and special lectures covering various fields of engineering, management, and current topics of interest. The Centre also arranges industrial visits to foster technical interaction between members and industry professionals. It observes significant international and national events like World Environment Day, World Telecommunication Day, and Engineers Day by hosting themed technical talks featuring field experts.
The Centre recognizes and honors excellence within its community through various awards, including the Best IE(I) Student Chapter Award, Innovation and Sustainability Award, Best Senior Engineer Award, Best Women Engineer Award, and the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Award. These awards are presented annually to deserving members, engineering, and polytechnic student members of IEI.
