The World Engineering Day event aimed to inspire youth to explore innovative engineering solutions for a sustainable future. It emphasized the role of engineering in tackling global challenges, promoting sustainability, and building resilient communities. The event encouraged participants to reflect on engineering’s impact on society.
Dr. K. Subramanian, Senior Vice President of Ashok Leyland, was the keynote speaker. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and a B.Tech from IIT Madras. With vast experience in advanced engineering, he has held key roles at Powergear Ltd. and GE’s Global Research Center, New York.
A distinguished innovator, he holds over 55 patents and has received prestigious awards like the Hull Award and Whitney Technical Achievement Award. Students had an interactive session with the chief guest, gaining valuable insights into engineering advancements. In recognition of his contributions, IEI TVLC, in association with Dr. M.G.R Educational and Research Institute, honored him with a Lifetime Achievement Award during the event.
